The research project, titled “Stimuli-Responsive Biomimetic Silica-Chitosan Nanocarriers for Controlled Fungicide Delivery to Combat Tomato Phytopathogens,” aims to develop innovative and sustainable approaches for plant disease management through advanced nanotechnology-based solutions.

The research project will be undertaken at the GITAM Hyderabad campus under the supervision of Dr. T. Swaroopa Rani, Principal Investigator, and Dr.Gausia Begum, Co-Principal Investigator.

Candidates possessing an M.Sc. degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Agricultural Sciences, Biochemistry, Nanotechnology, Life Sciences, or related disciplines are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in handling plant fungal pathogens, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, greenhouse experimentation, and molecular biology techniques.

The appointment is initially for one year and is extendable annually up to a maximum duration of three years, subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements. The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of ₹30,000 per month plus applicable House Rent Allowance (HRA) during the first year, in accordance with prevailing funding agency norms.

The Project Associate will actively participate in the development and characterization of silica-chitosan-based nanocarriers, fungicide formulation studies, antifungal efficacy assessments, pathogen-related investigations, and greenhouse evaluation of disease-control strategies.

Interested candidates are requested to submit their updated curriculum vitae, a brief cover letter outlining their research interests and relevant experience, and copies of academic transcripts to the Principal Investigator, Dr. T. Swaroopa Rani, via email at stirupaa@gitam.edu.
