GITAM Hosts “PharmaXplore 2026” – A Four-Day Immersion into Advanced Pharmaceutical Research

The GITAM School of Pharmacy (GSP), Hyderabad, successfully organizing“PharmaXplore 2026: Inside Advanced Pharmaceutical Research,” a four-day laboratory immersion programme for final-year B.Pharm students from April 6 to 9, 2026.

The programme provided a unique platform for aspiring pharmacists to gain first-hand exposure to cutting-edge research facilities and emerging drug development technologies. Participants actively engaged with faculty members and researchers, benefiting from hands-on experience with modern instrumentation and innovative research tools widely used in pharmaceutical sciences.

As part of the immersive learning experience, students were taken on guided laboratory tours and witnessed live demonstrations of high-end analytical instruments. Special sessions were conducted on computational drug design using Molsoft tools, along with demonstrations on the application of 3D printing in advanced drug delivery systems.

Key technologies showcased during the programme included High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Preparative HPLC (Prep-HPLC), and advanced formulation development equipment such as High-Pressure Homogenizers (HPH) and rheometers, among other state-of-the-art pharmaceutical analytical instruments.

The programme also offered valuable insights into advanced drug delivery systems, formulation development, and the critical transition of pharmaceutical products from laboratory-scale research to industrial manufacturing. Emphasis was placed on process optimization, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance—key aspects in ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.

The event was conducted under the supervision of Prof. G. Shiva Kumar, Principal, GSP, and was efficiently coordinated by Dr.Prateek Pathak and Dr. Pooja Mittal, with active support from faculty members. It would be continued till Thursday.

PharmaXplore 2026 stands as a testament to GITAM’s commitment to experiential learning and its continuous efforts to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry-oriented pharmaceutical research.
