GITAM Architecture Students Successfully Complete Internship at SPARROCON Architects, Hyderabad

Three second-year students from the School of Architecture, GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, have successfully completed their summer internship at SPARROCON Architects, Hyderabad, marking another significant step in the university’s commitment to industry-integrated learning and experiential education.

The students—Mohsin, Shriya, and Mariya—underwent their internship under the mentorship of Ar. JabbarShaik, Principal Architect, SPARROCON Architects, where they gained first-hand exposure to professional architectural practice, design methodologies, and project execution in a dynamic industry environment.

The internship opportunity was facilitated through the coordinated efforts of the GITAM Career Guidance Centre (GCGC) and the University Industry Cell (UIC). The students were recommended by Ar. Snigdha Roy, Assistant Professor and GCGC Coordinator, while the internship process was coordinated by Ar. Abhishek Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor and UIC Member.

The initiative was actively supported by Prof.Bandan Kumar Mishra, Director, GITAM School of Architecture, Hyderabad, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to provide students with meaningful industry exposure at an early stage of their academic journey.

During the internship, the students acquired practical knowledge of professional workflows, contemporary architectural design practices, project coordination, and workplace collaboration. The experience enabled them to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world architectural practice while enhancing their technical and professional competencies.

Commending the students for their performance, Ar. JabbarShaik appreciated their strong foundation in architectural software, effective communication skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment. He noted that the students demonstrated commendable professionalism and adaptability throughout the internship.

Impressed by their dedication and capabilities, Ar. JabbarShaik also expressed his interest in strengthening industry-academia collaboration with GITAM through the University Industry Cell, particularly in the areas of student internships, placements, and future industry engagement initiatives.

The successful completion of the internship reflects GITAM’s continued emphasis on fostering industry partnerships and equipping students with practical skills, professional exposure, and career-ready competencies that prepare them to excel in the evolving field of architecture.
