DGFT Lav Agarwal Calls On MSMEs To Tap Export Promotion Mission For Global Expansion
Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Lav Agarwal has urged exporters and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to make full use of the newly launched Export Promotion Mission to expand their presence in global markets and boost exports from Andhra Pradesh.
An Exporters Outreach Event focusing on the Export Promotion Mission was organised at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, the DGFT outlined the government’s priorities for strengthening India’s export ecosystem. He highlighted the success of the recent Export Obligation Discharge Certificate (EODC) drive conducted between March 1 and May 31, this year.
He added that faster disposal of EODC cases, including those handled by the Regional Authority in Visakhapatnam, helped exporters release bank guarantees and improve liquidity, unlocking nearly 419 crore rupees for exporters in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Agarwal encouraged MSMEs to benefit from the Export Promotion Mission’s two key components of Niryat Protsahan, which provides trade finance support, and Niryat Disha, which aims to address market access barriers.
The programme also highlighted the launch of the Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) initiative, a 90-day national campaign that began on June 1. Six districts in Andhra Pradesh-Ananthapur, Chittoor, East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna and Visakhapatnam, have been identified as priority districts for promoting local products and expanding export opportunities.
Exporters, MSMEs, industry associations and representatives of the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC), attended the programme.
