Congress Announces Six Candidates For Rajya Sabha: Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narender Reddy from Telangana

The Congress President Shri Mallikharjuna kharge has approved the proposal for the candidature of the following persons to contest the Rajya Sabha elections as Congress candidates from the states mentioned against their names.

Congress has released a list of six candidates for the Rajya Sabha Biennial elections. Party leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narender Reddy have been nominated from Telangana. Meanwhile, Phulo Devi Netam has been fielded from Chhattisgarh, Karamvir Singh Boudh from Haryana, Anurag Sharma from Himachal Pradesh and M Christopher Tilak from Tamil Nadu.

Filing of nominations for 37 Rajya Sabha seats across ten states will close today. Polling will be held on the 16th of this month. Seven seats in Maharashtra, six seats in Tamil Nadu, five seats each in Bihar and West Bengal, four seats in Odisha, three seats in Assam, two seats each in Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, and one seat in Himachal Pradesh are falling vacant.

Telangana State Government Advisor Vem Narender Reddy paid a courtesy call on TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud at his residence.

On this occasion, Mahesh Kumar Goud felicitated Vem Narender Reddy with a shawl and congratulated him. Later, Mahesh Kumar Goud presented the official candidate form of the Congress party to Vem Narender Reddy, who was elected as a Rajya Sabha member from Telangana.

MLAs Revuri Prakash, Vijayaramana Rao, Gandra Satyanarayana, Chairman Challa Narasimha Reddy and AICC Secretary Sampath Kumar participated in the program.
