Celebrating Holi In Telangana & MH: A Festival Of Colours And Brotherhood

The spirit of joy and brotherhood gripped Telangana today as people from all walks of life celebrated Holi, the festival of colours, with traditional fervour. From the capital city of Hyderabad to the rural heartlands, the state transformed into a canvas of vibrant hues, marking the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring.

The Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, celebrated Holi with the children of Lok Bhavan Pariwar at Lok Bhavan, Hyderabad On the festive occasion, the Governor joined the children in the celebrations, exchanged greetings, and conveyed his heartfelt wishes for their happiness and bright future.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended his warm greetings to the citizens, describing Holi as a symbol of love, affection, and peaceful coexistence. He urged the public to celebrate across religious and communal lines and advocated for the use of natural colours to protect the environment. Meanwhile, In Hyderabad, BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao joined the youth at the Osmania University Arts College to celebrate the occasion. Engaging with students, he emphasised that such collective celebrations foster positive consciousness and a sense of unity among the younger generation.

The festivities were particularly spirited within the police department. In Mahabubabad, SP Sabharish danced alongside his staff to popular tracks, providing a much-needed break for personnel often occupied with rigorous duties. Similar scenes were witnessed in the Nirmal district, where SP Janaki Sharmila led the celebrations at her camp office, and in Rajanna Sircilla, where SP Akhil Mahajan and his team participated in the traditional ‘Utti’ breaking ceremony after the previous night’s Kamadahana rituals.

In Asifabad, MLA Kova Laxmi and SP Nitika Pant joined local residents in using eco-friendly colours. Although some confusion persisted in Hyderabad markets regarding the exact date due to calendar variations, and certain villages in Nalgonda observed the festival quietly due to lunar eclipse beliefs, the overall atmosphere remained electric. From yoga practitioners in Nalgonda to children in the streets of Sircilla, the state resonated with music and laughter, reinforcing the cultural fabric of the region.

Maharashtra Celebrates Festival Of Colour With Heightened Police Vigilance

The festival of colours is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across Maharashtra today. Police deployment has been increased statewide to take legal action against the sale of liquor and the smuggling of drugs in the name of Holi.

In Mumbai, people celebrated Holi by playing with colours at various locations. Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde urged citizens to celebrate an eco-friendly Holi by avoiding chemical colours. She made this appeal during a programme organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation called ‘Flowers Holi’ at Rajawadi Garden in Ghatkopar.

Traditional celebrations, including Holika Dahan, were held across the state yesterday. In Jalgaon, the Holi puja was performed at the Bhavani Mata temple in Saraf Bazaar. In Jalna, a traditional ‘Hatti Risala’ procession marked Dhulawad, celebrating its 138th year this year. Both stock markets remained closed today on this occasion.
