On the occasion of Bohag Bihu and the Assamese New Year, Assam Chief Secretary Sri Ravi Kota remarked that returning to the Golaghat district amidst old friends and acquaintances brought him truly immense joy and a deep sense of gratitude.

“This land holds a special place in my heart—it was my very first district nearly 28 years ago, and it was right here that I embarked upon a meaningful chapter in public service,” the Chief Secretary reminisced.

He expressed that it was a truly humbling experience to find that people still remember, with such warmth and affection, the bonds they had forged together and the collective efforts undertaken for the welfare of Golaghat. The Chief Secretary noted that their continued goodwill was both deeply touching and inspiring.

“Meeting them again, sharing memories, and witnessing the enduring spirit of the community is an experience I will cherish forever,” he recalled. He added that the sense of belonging—of being ‘one of their own’—remains as strong as ever.

“On the auspicious occasion of Bohag Bihu—the Assamese New Year—I, along with my wife Nirmala, had the privilege of visiting the Athkheliya Namghar,” the CS proudly stated. He added that, while there, they offered prayers for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of all.

Emphasizing that such moments reaffirm the enduring bond between people, place, and purpose, CS Ravi Kota expressed his gratitude in words that were truly ineffable.
