A total of over 29 thousand public Electric Vehicle charging stations have been installed in the country. Minister of State for Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
He said the government has made an allocation of more than 912 crore rupees under the FAME-2, Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles, and two thousand crore rupees under the PM E-DRIVE schemes for the deployment of adequate public EV charging infrastructure across the country.
He said, under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme, the Ministry issued operational guidelines for the deployment of EV Public Charging Stations last year, which provide the framework for the implementation of charging infrastructure projects.
Today, in New Delhi, along with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, a courtesy call was held on the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. In this crucial meeting, MOS Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma said that various issues related to the economic development of the state of Andhra Pradesh were discussed.
Positive discussions were held on the creation of infrastructure, financial incentives for backward areas and central assistance required for industrial development as part of the state reconstruction. The Minister stated that steps are being taken towards making Andhra Pradesh an economic and industrial leader with the coordination of the Central and State Governments.
My fellow Union Ministers, Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Shri Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and Honorable Members of Parliament from the state participated in this meeting. He said that we are all committed to leading the state on the path of development in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, in Delhi, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu along with the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy had a courtesy call on him.
In this meeting, we discussed various key issues related to the state of Andhra Pradesh. On this occasion, Union Minister Kumaraswamy assured that the Centre will provide full support for the development of Andhra Pradesh. State Ministers and Members of Parliament also participated in this meeting.
