State Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Forests and Environment Shri PawanKalyan’s vision is taking concrete form, emphasizing equal priority to environmental protection alongside industrial progress.
Under the fundamental principle of a development movement that safeguards the environment, a special campaign has been formulated by the Pollution Control Board and is being implemented statewide. This plan, designed to ensure strict adherence to the mandate that every industry must cover 33% of its premises with greenery, is yielding results.
In line with Shri Pawan Kalyan’s directives, a special drive was conducted in the first phase by selecting one industry per district and achieving green cover targets within two weeks. This drive, which began on July 28th, concluded by August 11th. The 26 industries selected across 26 districts achieved the stipulated targets in just 14 days.
A total of 43,300 saplings were planted across 129 acres. Priority was given to suitable native species based on local climatic conditions and soil quality, along with fruit trees, ornamental plants, and species such as neem, cluster bean, drumstick, coconut, and others.
Shri Pawan Kalyan is advancing the resolve to absorb air pollution from heavy industries and ensure clean air for future generations. Beyond limiting industries to productivity and job creation, strict measures are being taken to maintain environmental balance. Amid the backdrop of accelerating industrial progress in the state, this underscores the necessity to prioritize environmental protection responsibilities.
With the first phase of the 33% green cover initiative successfully completed, Shri Pawan Kalyan has directed Pollution Control Board (PCB) officials to implement the program rigorously at the field level and take necessary actions to ensure remaining industries across the state also become partners in achieving green cover targets.
As part of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat–2047 vision, he has called upon every department and every industry to commit responsibly toward achieving a 50% green cover target in the state.
