Chief Minister Shri revanth_anumula garu announced that in the coming one and a half years, Osmania General Hospital, Alwal TIMS, LB Nagar TIMS, and Warangal Super Speciality Hospitals will be completed and made available to the public, one hospital every six months. He made it clear that government hospitals will be developed in such a way that no corporate hospital can compete with them.
In Hyderabad #Sanathnagar, Chief Minister garu inaugurated the Doctor Marri Chennareddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (DrMCRTIMS). The inauguration program took place in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Mallu garu, Ministers
Damodar Cilarapu garu, Komatireddy KVR garu, Ponnam garu, and several public representatives.
Later, speaking at a meeting held in the hospital premises, the Chief Minister said that after the formation of the people’s government, funds have been allocated with utmost priority to Osmania Hospital, Sanathnagar, Alwal, LB Nagar TIMS, and Warangal Hospital, and efforts are being made to complete the constructions quickly.
“Once these hospitals are completed, 10,000 beds in hospitals will become available to the poor. This will instill confidence in the poor across the state.
To match the services provided by #NIMS hospital, which competes with AIIMS, we will appoint one director for each hospital and develop them under their supervision. Not only will we allocate the necessary funds for this, but we will also manage them in a way that no corporate hospital can surpass,” said the Chief Minister, instructing officials to formulate a special action plan for this.
“Free meals should be provided to those who come to these hospitals. Dormitories and other facilities should also be provided for attendants to stay. Not only will we allocate the necessary funds for this, but we should also approve a super PG and a nursing college here,” the Chief Minister directed the officials.
“After the people’s government came to power, we are taking education and health sectors forward as top priorities. The comprehensive changes in the education sector are well known to everyone. Women in nursing have so far been providing services only in Middle Eastern countries; in the future, they should learn German, Japanese, and Korean languages to secure thousands of job and employment opportunities in those countries.
After the people’s government came to power, we have appointed 16,000 personnel in the health sector so far. Never before have such large-scale recruitments been undertaken.
We consider the health of the poor as our responsibility. Whether it’s investment in education or funds allocated for health, we do not view them as expenses or under welfare schemes. We see them as investments for the future. Education for children and medical care for parents have become extremely expensive in a poor family’s household.
If the poor are admitted to a corporate hospital, they end up in a situation where selling assets isn’t enough. Ultimately, they are even forced to sell their kidneys. Healthcare has become extremely expensive in the state and the country. In the past, after laying foundation stones for hospital constructions in Sanathnagar, Alwal, and LB Nagar, the funds and construction were forgotten. In #Warangal, they promised to build a major hospital and rendered the existing one ineffective.
That is why the state government, with complete understanding, aims to provide healthcare to all 4 crore people in the state, to every individual. That healthcare should be free. Especially, for a person to stay healthy, their heart and kidneys must be in good condition. Inaugurating a super speciality hospital in Sanathnagar named after Doctor Marri Chennareddy garu, related to heart, kidneys, and organ transplants, will be extremely beneficial for the poor,” said the Chief Minister.
“In 32 months of people’s governance, we have spent approximately ₹2,700 crores on #RajivAarogyasri. From the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund #CMRF, ₹2,526 crores have been spent. Through these two schemes, under the supervision of the health department, we have spent ₹5,226 crores. No government in the country has spent funds at this level for the poor.
If the health and medical department is allocated an average of ₹13,000 crores annually in the budget, the people’s government has so far spent ₹21,800 crores. We consider this spending as our duty. As a symbol of the trust and confidence the people have placed in us, we have continuously invested every rupee to make funds available for the medical needs of the poor.
A hundred years ago, when the Nizam government inaugurated #Osmania General Hospital for the poor, it has now reached a state of collapse. When rains come, floods enter inside the hospital, making it difficult to even provide medical care there. In the past decade, those in power did not even consider the idea of building Osmania Hospital elsewhere.
After our government came to power, next to Osmania Hospital, we are constructing a 200-bed multi super speciality hospital in Goshamahal over 30 acres with ₹2,700 crores. We will complete it soon,” he stated.
“Government doctors should provide additional time services. Instead of their skills being used in other areas, when they perform surgeries and elsewhere, we will give them special incentives,” he instructed the Health Minister to seriously consider this matter.
“We must cleanse the medical and health department to instill confidence in the people, so that when hardship strikes, they feel assured that the Telangana government is there for us. Instilling trust and confidence in the poor makes our birth worthwhile.
If we can provide quality education from nursery to 12th class and then teach the necessary skills afterward, there will be no need to provide any welfare schemes. They will sustain themselves. No one will take free welfare schemes from the government.
They only think of taking welfare schemes for free when hardship strikes. Many want to live with dignity through hard work. They look toward welfare schemes only when proper opportunities are not provided. If we can implement government policies in a way that enables them to stand on their own feet independently, the people too will not expect anything for free from the government,” he explained.
On this auspicious occasion of dedicating another jewel to the state of Telangana today, the Chief Minister extended congratulations to Ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha garu, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy garu, and the staff who worked tirelessly for this.
