Hyderabad: Charminar CCF Dr. Priyanka Varghese participated in a *Vanamahotsavam* (tree plantation festival) event organized by NCC students at Saifabad Science College as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (Plant a Tree in Mother’s Name) initiative. NCC cadets presented a guard of honor to her upon her arrival as the chief guest. Subsequently, she joined the students in planting saplings on the college campus.
Speaking on the occasion, CCF Mrs. Priyanka Varghese urged everyone to plant a sapling in their mother’s name and take responsibility for nurturing it. She emphasized that while planting trees is crucial for environmental conservation, nurturing and protecting them is equally important. She called upon everyone to cultivate the habit of planting a sapling on every birthday and caring for it throughout their lives.
Describing the current generation of students as representatives of ‘Gen Z,’ she noted that they possess the capability to achieve any goal they set their minds to. She stated that if the youth take the lead in nature conservation, it would greatly benefit society. Mrs. Priyanka Varghese commended the lush greenery of the Saifabad Science College campus. She appreciated the efforts made by the college management, NCC officials, and students toward preserving and promoting greenery.
