As part of the Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranika celebrations, the Eco-Tourism Division of the Telangana Forest Development Corporation (TGFDC) successfully organized a Mega Free Health Camp on Sunday at the Botanical Garden, Hyderabad. The medical camp was officially inaugurated by Smt. K. Shireesha, Assistant Director, Eco-Tourism Division, who inspected the specialized medical counters and interacted with the participants. Organized in collaboration with a dedicated team of medical professionals from Sri Sri Holistic Hospitals, the initiative aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare access and promote wellness among the garden’s regular visitors and morning/evening walkers.
During the event, Smt. Shireesha highlighted that the Botanical Garden sees a regular footfall of nearly 3,000 walkers daily, many of whom unfortunately neglect minor health symptoms at a primary stage, leading to avoidable health complications later on. To address this issue and emphasize preventive healthcare, expert doctors including Dr. Nikhil – General Physician, Dr. Prathysha – Dietition, Dr. Rajya Laxmi – Ayurvedic, Malini Devi – Manager, Holistic Hospitals, Medical Camps Executive – Veera Swamy, Yeshwanth and supporting staff—provided free consultations. The camp offered vital diagnostic services entirely free of charge, including Blood Pressure (BP), blood sugar monitoring, weight checks, Electrocardiograms (ECG), and 2D Echo screenings and eye check-up etc.
The health camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 372 walkers and visitors successfully availing themselves of these free medical evaluations and expert consultations. The beneficiaries expressed their sincere gratitude to the TGFDC management and Sri Sri Holistic Hospital for bringing crucial healthcare services directly to their daily fitness space. By seamlessly blending environmental wellness with healthcare, the TGFDC successfully demonstrated its commitment to community well-being and public health.
The event saw the participation of Senior Divisional Manager & Assistant Director, Eco-Tourism Smt. K. Sireesha, Plantation Manager V. Lakshma Reddy, Projects Manager K. Suman, Naturalists Samson Raju and Rohith and other staff members of TGFDC and Cognizant volunteers.
