Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) intercepted a Star Tortoise that was being illegally transported on an express train. Acting on information received from the Security Control Room, officials conducted inspections at Secunderabad Station.
During these inspections, a passenger named Suresh Kumar (32), a resident of Addagutta, was found to be carrying the tortoise while traveling from Bhuvanagiri to Secunderabad. He was immediately taken into custody and transported to the RPF Police Station.
Subsequently, the matter was brought to the attention of Forest Department officials, who promptly produced the accused before a court. Hyderabad DFO Srinivas stated that the court has remanded the accused to judicial custody for 14 days.
