Singareni invites applications for selection of women operators in open-cast mines
SCCL is offering an opportunity for women General Assistants or Badili workers to be appointed as Operators in opencast mines.
Under the directives of C&MD Sri N. Balram, steps are being taken towards women’s empowerment in mining.
Singareni Bhavan, Sept 13: SIngareni Collieries Company Limited is inviting applications from women currently working as General Assistants or Badili Workers to be selected as Operators of heavy machinery in opencast mines. This initiative is part of C&MD
Sri N. Balram’s vision to empower women in the mining sector, promote equal opportunities, and ensure efficient utilization of human resources.
Accordingly, on Saturday the Singareni management issued a circular to all mines and departments. This is the first time in Singareni’s history that women are being given the opportunity to work as operators of heavy machinery in opencast mines.
The Management stated that, Women candidates who are currently working as General Assistants or Badili Workers are below 35 years of age and have passed at least 7th Class can apply for this Operator post. The management also mentioned that, Women applying must be physically fit and must possess at least a two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license. Preference will be given to those who obtained their driving license before August 2024.
Women employees who meet the above qualifications should complete the application in the given format and submit it to the respective Mine Manager, Department Head or General Manager. After receiving the applications, a committee led by the General Manager (CPP) will review them and select candidates who meet the minimum qualifications.
The selected candidates to be undergo training at the Telangana Institute of Driving Education and Skills located in Sircilla, in the Heavy Goods Vehicle and Heavy Motor Vehicle divisions. After completing the training, based on vacancy availability, those who pass the selection test will be appointed to the respective areas with the designation of EP Operator Trainee Category-5. The management has invited applications from interested women employees.
