GITAM’s Kautilya School of Public Policy hosts Annual Public Policy Conference – ‘The Kautilya Colloquy’
The Kautilya School of Public Policy successfully hosted its annual flagship conference, The Kautilya Colloquy (Third Edition), bringing together thought leaders, scholars, practitioners, and students to deliberate on pressing global and national challenges.
This year’s theme, “Navigating through a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) World”, underscored the need for interdisciplinary approaches, innovative solutions, and collaborative efforts in shaping public policy.
The day-long event featured panel discussions, paper presentations, and a policy sprint, offering a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and policy innovation.
Highlights of the conference included:
Panel Discussions: Experts discussed “Fintech for India – Road Ahead” and “Sustainable Futures: Climate Policy in a VUCA World.” The panelists where: Mr. Prasanna Lohar (President, India Block chain forum), Mr. Abhishek Lahiri( VP and Head – Government Affairs, South Asia , Mastercard and Mr. Ragavan Venkatesan – Founder and CEO DGV Group.
The session moderated by Dr. Amrendra Pandey – Assistant Dean (Research) at Kautilya School of Public Policy. The second panel was Sustainable Futures: Climate Policy in a VUCA World.” The panelists are Ms. Aarti Khosla – Director, Climate trends, Mr. Subrata Mitra – Senior Vice President, Head Government Relations and Policy- Ather Energy, Dr. Swati Singh – Lead – Sustainability Sollution Recykal. The Climate Change and ESG session examined the intersection of economic growth, social equity, and environmental responsibility, while exploring global mechanisms like carbon tariffs and sustainable trade practices.
Paper Presentations: Students, academicians, and researchers presented scholarly contributions on themes such as Economic Resilience, ESG Policies, Digital Governance & AI, Geopolitics, and Inclusive Governance.
Policy Sprint: A high-energy competition where participants crafted innovative, evidence-based, and scalable policy proposals focused on sustainability, urban governance, and technological disruption. Teams gained access to mentorship, expert feedback, and exposure to policy practitioners.
Through these discussions and initiatives, the Colloquy sought to generate actionable insights and forward-looking policy recommendations. The ideas emerging from the conference are expected to inform future practices, fostering inclusive, data-led, and sustainable governance frameworks.
