Telangana Forest Dept to observe Forest Martyrs Day tomorrow

On the occasion of the Forest Martyrs’ Day, a special parade will be held at the Nehru Zoo Park in Hyderabad tomorrow under the Telangana Forest Department.

The State Minister for Forest, Environment and Endowments, Smt. Konda Surekha, will be the chief guest at the special program to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection of forests.

The special guests include State Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, State DGP Jitender, Telangana Forest Development Corporation Chairman Podem Veeraiah, PCCF (HoFF) Dr. C. Suvarna, and former forest officials.

While, Over 27 forest officers of various categories across Telangana sacrificed their lives in the protection of forests. The government should take steps to resolve the issues like employment  and compensation payment to their families from the government.
