Hyderabad: GITAM School of Pharmacy Secures PCI Approval for Increased B.Pharm Intake
GITAM School of Pharmacy, Hyderabad, has received approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) to increase the intake for its flagship Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) program from 60 to 100 seats, effective from the academic year 2025–26.
Announcing the development, Prof. G. Shiva Kumar, Principal, GITAM School of Pharmacy, said that the official communication was received from the Registrar-cum-Secretary of PCI. He further informed that PCI has also granted approval for the continuation of Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) programs, with 15 seats each in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology.

Welcoming this approval, GITAM leadership, including Prof. D.S. Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM Hyderabad; DVVSR Varma, Resident Director; and other School Directors, expressed their delight, noting that the expansion will enhance opportunities for aspiring students while strengthening the institution’s commitment to nurturing skilled pharmacy professionals who can meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector.
