Hyderabad: GITAMites Set to Shine at IIT Bombay Tech fest 2024
A talented team of students from the Innovation Centre (IC) of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, is gearing up to showcase their cutting-edge projects at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Techfest, scheduled for December 17-19, 2024. This annual science and technology festival, which began in 1998, serves as a remarkable platform for the Indian student community to develop and display their innovative projects, attracting participants and visitors from around the globe.
The Techfest boasts the patronage of esteemed organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), and SAYEN, reinforcing its significance in promoting scientific and technological advancements.
The GITAM IC team will compete in several exciting events, showcasing their engineering prowess and creativity with projects that include:
FPV Racing Drone: Engineered for speed and agility, this drone features a lightweight carbon fiber frame and high-thrust motors.
MeshMerize: An intelligent robot equipped with an 8-sensor IR array, designed for precise line detection and rapid maze-solving capabilities.
Cozmo Clench: A versatile gripper robot featuring a custom claw mechanism optimized for efficient object manipulation and competition tasks.
Fixed-Wing Aircraft: Constructed for aeromodelling competitions, this aircraft is made with depron and boasts a stable powertrain, designed for payload efficiency in challenging scenarios.
Racing Boat: Built for high-speed water navigation, this boat features a lightweight Depron hull, powered by a 1000 kV motor and a 3D-printed 35 mm propeller.
Expressing his support, GITAM Hyderabad Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. D.S. Rao, along with School of Technology Director Prof. V.R. Sastry, Associate Director Prof. N.Seetaramaiah, and Resident Director DVVSR Varma, conveyed their best wishes to the team. They emphasized their hopes for the team to not only perform admirably but also to return with invaluable experiences and a robust global network.
