Singareni: Merit scholarship increased from Rs. 10 to 16 thousand: Minimum qualification from 2 to 8 thousand ranks

The management has issued orders increasing the annual scholarship amount given so far to the children of Singareni workers and officers who have achieved the best ranks in the entrance examinations of courses such as EAMCET, NEET, JEE Mains, AIIMS etc. from Rs. 10 thousand to Rs. 16 thousand. It also informed in a statement released on Wednesday that the minimum rank has been increased from below 2000 to below 8000.
This scholarship scheme was introduced in 1998 to increase and encourage the interest of the children of workers in higher education. It was applied only to the children of employees who achieved a rank below 2000. The company has been providing a scholarship of Rs. 6000 per year every year till the completion of the course of study of the eligible students by accepting applications from all areas. In 2010, it was increased to Rs. 10 thousand as per the request to increase the scholarship amount.
Meanwhile, in a recent constructive meeting held with the recognition union, the leaders of the recognition union appealed to the management to increase the amount paid as scholarship from Rs. 10 to Rs. 16 thousand and also to increase the scholarship coverage from below 2000 rank to below 8000 rank. To this, the CMD of the company, Shri N. Balaram, responded positively. As per his order, the Director Pa issued a circular regarding the revised scholarship.
These orders will be applicable to the students who appeared for the entrance examinations in the academic year 2024-25, and to this extent, the Director Pa revealed that applications should be sent from all areas by June 15.
He said that the company will pay a scholarship of Rs. 16,000 per year to those who have secured up to 8,000 ranks in the EAMCET entrance exams until the completion of their course, and that the scholarship will be applied based on the best rank to those who have secured admission in JEE Mains (NIT), AIIMS, and BITSAT (BITS-Pilani). The management appeals to the employees to take advantage of this opportunity.
