Pahalgam Terror Attack: HM Amit Shah Reaches Pahalgam To Take First-Hand Account Of Terror Attack
Union Home Minister Amit has reached Pahalgam to take a first-hand account of the security situation in the wake of yesterday’s terror attack on a group of tourists in Pahalgam in Anantnag district.
He will visit the site of the terror attack in the Baisaran forest area. He is also likely to visit the Government Medical College, Anantnag Hospital, where the injured are being treated.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid floral tributes to the deceased in Srinagar. The bodies are being airlifted in a special flight from Srinagar to their native places. Security has been beefed up in Pahalgam, elsewhere in South Kashmir’s Anantnag and adjoining Kulgam and other South Kashmir districts.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Valley is observing day day-long complete shutdown against the tourist killings in Pahalgam. Most of the shops, markets and local industrial and manufacturing units are closed. The private public transport is off the roads.
The streets wear a deserted look. All private educational institutions have suspended their classwork today. All trade, industrial bodies and institutions, besides civil society organisations, have condemned the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam yesterday.
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti is leading a protest in Srinagar against the killings and in solidarity with the victims of the attack.
