Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the toss and have opted to field

Patidar: We’re going to bowl first. Wicket looks decent, won’t change much. Batting second will give more clarity about the game and the wicket. We’re not looking at venues, just trying to play good cricket.

Iyer: We also wanted to bowl. At the end of the day you always have to adapt according to the situation. Important to give ourselves some time, see how the ball is moving. It’s the first afternoon game for us. Hopefully we get a good total on the board. The support we got, especially in the last game in this stadium, was outstanding. Same team.

In IPL T20 Cricket, Punjab Kings will take on  Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Chandigarh this afternoon. The match will begin at  3:30 PM at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium, Chandigarh.

Punjab Kings have climbed to the third spot with 10 points and will look to cement their position with another win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB are holding fifth spot on points table with eight points.

In another match,  Mumbai Indians will face  Chennai Super Kings this evening. The match will start at 7:30 PM in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. With just two wins from seven matches, Chennai Super Kings’  languish at the bottom of the table. They need to win at least six of their seven remaining games to stay in contention.

Mumbai Indians are also not in a much better position.  They have managed just three win so far. However, with Bumrah, Suryakumar, and Hardik hitting form they can still hope for a turnaround.
