Hyderabad: GITAM School of Business Organizes Immersive Leadership Workshop for MBA Students
The GITAM School of Business, Hyderabad, successfully hosted a transformative three-day Experiential Workshop on Effective Leadership recently, as an integral component of its MBA curriculum. The initiative aimed to deepen students’ leadership capabilities through a dynamic blend of reflective, analytical, and experiential learning practices.
Designed to bridge theory and real-world application, the workshop offered a rich mix of self-awareness tools, emotional intelligence training, leadership style analysis, and cinematic case studies. Participants engaged in modules carefully curated to cultivate essential leadership traits and foster a deeper understanding of personal and professional growth.
Key highlights of the workshop included:
- Self-Awareness & Personality Insights: In-depth assessments such as MBTI, the Big Five Personality Test, the Johari Window, and Edgar Schein’s Career Anchors enabled students to explore their core traits and motivational drivers.
- Emotional Intelligence Development: Focused sessions on self-awareness, emotional regulation, and empathic leadership were delivered through interactive case studies, TED Talks, and guided reflections.
- Leadership Style Exploration: Using Daniel Goleman’s Six Leadership Styles framework, participants engaged in role plays, audiovisual exercises, and scenario-based learning to discover their unique leadership approach.
- Movie-Based Learning: Group presentations on films like 1983, Chak De India, and Maidaan helped students identify and evaluate leadership traits depicted in real-life inspired narratives.
The workshop was facilitated by a distinguished panel of industry veterans, led by P. V. Krishna Rao (Founder, Peepal HR Associates), V. Shiva Prasad (Retd. GM-HR, NTPC), and V. L. N. Rao (Independent Consultant), whose insights added depth and industry relevance to the sessions.
The event was coordinated by faculty members Dr. P. Nagapriya, Dr. Monu Singh, and Dr. Meera Peethambaran, Assistant Professors in Organizational Development and Human Resources at the School of Business. Their meticulous planning ensured a seamless and enriching experience for the students.
