Govt says total forest and tree cover of country over 8.27 lakh square KM which is more than 25%

Government says the total forest and tree cover of the country is over eight lakh 27 thousand square kilometres which is over 25 % of the geographical area of the country. In a reply in Lok Sabha,

Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav says, the current assessment shows an increase of over 1445 square km in the forest and tree cover as compared to the last assessment of 2021.
