Hyderabad: CM Revanth Reddy announces OBC population in Telangana 56.36 percent

CM Revanth Reddy said that it is an honour to announce that since the independence of India, the long pending demand of the subaltern groups is to be counted and recognized in the official census of families belonging to backward castes.

Today, as the leader of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and as the Chief Minister, I solemnly declare that the OBC population in Telangana is 56.36 percent, based on the most scientific, methodologically rigorous and painful efforts of the BC people.

We have now resolved to provide 42 percent reservation to this community in all fields – education, jobs and employment & political representation.

Be on the right side of history & let each one of us become a winner of this historic move, the CM called upon.
