STPP 800 MW power plant to be completed in 40 months: Steps should be taken to start work next month: CMD Shri N. Balaram on the occasion of agreement with BHEL for construction of the plant

The tenders for the construction of another 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal plant at the premises of the 1200 MW Singareni Thermal Power Plant at Jaipur in Mancherial district have already been completed, and on Monday evening, Singareni signed an agreement with the public sector undertaking Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (B.H.E.L.) for the construction work.

In this program held at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad, CMD Shri N. Balaram, Director (E&M) Shri D. Satyanarayana Rao, Director (Operations), Shri L.V. Suryanarayana, Executive Director (Coal Movement) Shri S.D.M. Subhani, senior officials of Singareni Power Department, General Manager and Head Shri Parthasarathi Das from BHEL, GM Shri Jogesh Gulati, and other officials participated.

Speaking on the occasion, CMD Shri N. Balaram clarified that although the agreement was to complete the project in a maximum of four years, it should be completed within 40 months. Accordingly, the work should be started from next month. There should be continuous monitoring to ensure that the work is completed within the given schedule. All the facilities are available in the power project premises, and it was suggested that the construction of the plant should be completed quickly by utilizing these.

Speaking on the occasion, BHEL GM and Head Shri Parthasarathy Das said that the board has decided that the Singareni Power Plant is a top priority project and work will begin immediately in this context. He revealed that plans have been made to overcome the problems faced in the previous 1200 MW project.

SCCL to earn Rs.300 crore profit annually if the plant is completed

According to this agreement, BHEL will have to complete the installation of boilers, turbines, generators (BTG) and all types of civil and other structures related to the 800 MW Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Plant within 48 months, that is, four years.

Currently, the Singareni Company is successfully running the 1200 MW thermal power plant completed in 2016, earning the company a profit of about Rs 450 crore every year. So far, this plant has provided about 70 thousand million units of electricity to the state.

In this context, the Singareni Thermal Power Plant has repeatedly achieved the highest Plant Load Factor (PLF) among the thermal power plants run by state governments in the country and has been recognized at the national level. Expressing satisfaction with the performance of this plant, the state government has ordered the Singareni Company to establish another unit in the same premises.

With this, the tender process for this new plant has been completed and an agreement has been signed for the construction work. If this plant is completed, the Singareni Company is likely to earn another profit of up to Rs 300 crore per year. This will contribute greatly to the progress of Singareni.
