Full cooperation to Telangana in key minerals , mining sector, says Queensland Minister
Singareni Bhavan: Telangana State will be playing an important role in the mining of key minerals in India and in this context Telangana’s agreement for mutual cooperation and partnership with the Queensland (Australian) government in the crucial mineral technology and mining sector is an auspicious development. It will become a milestone in the Telangana State’s mining history, said Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Energy Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.
He said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has extended his greetings to the delegation from Queensland.
The Deputy Chief Minister spoke at the meeting with Queensland State Finance, Commerce, Employment and Training Minister Ms Rose Bates and with the team of officers from that State on ‘Production of Key Minerals , Expansion of Trade Opportunities’ . The meeting was held at Singareni Bhavan here on Monday.
Mr Bhatti Vikramarka said that there was huge demand in Telangana and in entire country for electric vehicles and solar power, battery storage systems. Therefore there was great requirement for 11 kinds of minerals like Vanadium, Cobalt, Indium, Chromium, Titanium etc. So far such minerals were being imported from foreign countries. As these minerals are abundantly available in Queensland , the Telangana government has come to a preliminary agreement for a mutually profitable business agreement for production and sale of these minerals, he said.
Telangana State has set a target to generate 20,000 MW Green Energy by 2029-30 and is formulating plans to achieve this target and become a model for the country. In this regard, Telangana government may take the cooperation of Queensland, he said.
Mr Vikramarka said that Singareni Collieries Company is appointed as the Nodal Agency for joint mining and mineral trade between Telangana State and Queensland.
