Telangana: Rescue Activities Underway In Full Swing To Evacuate 8 Stranded Persons From A Tunnel In Nagarkurnool
In Telangana, rescue activities are underway in full swing to evacuate eight stranded persons from the Tunnel of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC). Eight persons were stranded inside the tunnel when a part of the roof of the tunnel collapsed near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district yesterday morning.
The rescue teams from the disaster management and the Singareni Coal Collieries are already at the site, making all-out efforts to bring them to safety.
The rescue teams are making all-out efforts to reach out to the stranded persons inside the tunnel of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district.
As per the authorities, one team which tried to reach them inside the tunnel, returned back last night after they could not get access due to mud and silt. Another rescue team went inside late in the night and is expected to come out of the tunnel this morning.
The National and State Disaster Management teams along with those from the Singareni coal collieries are at the site throughout the night. As the time passes on, the concerns about the safety of the workers inside the tunnel are rising.
Meanwhile, District Collector Badhawat Santhosh and Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad are at the location throughout the night monitoring the rescue operations.
