In the Indian Super League (ISL) Football, Mohun Bagan Super Giant secured a dominant 3-NIL victory over Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, last evening.
Despite having only 33.4 per cent possession, the Mariners were clinical, converting three of their four shots on target.
With this win, they remain at the top of the table with 49 points from 21 games, 10 points ahead of FC Goa, who have played one game less. They are now just one win away from defending their ISL Shield title.
In another match of the day, Chennaiyin FC defeated Punjab FC 2-1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, with a late goal from Daniel Chima Chukwu sealing the win. Both teams remain in the lower half of the table with 24 points each, with Punjab in ninth and Chennaiyin in tenth.
