Telangana: A delegation of European Varsities visits Hyderabad: Welcomed by TGCHE Chairman Dr. Balakistareddy
A delegation of the Indo – Euro Synchronization and IUN Group from Germany called on Prof V Balakista Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad.
The delegation included Prof. Dr. Christian Werner, CEO – IUN Group and University of Applied Management (Ismaning/Munich), Dr.Banga Raju, SRVP and Board, German Varsity and Indo Euro Synchronization, Mr. Alexander Trunweld, Director German Varsity and Mr. Raj Vangapandu, Managing Director, German Varsity and Indo Euro Synchronization
The delegation briefed the Chairman, TGCHE about their proposal to establish an off campus of the European campus in Hyderabad in order to address the shortage of skilled workforce in Germany. They stated that they intend to set a quality cutting campus which would enhance capacity building and lead to a pathway progress in Hyderabad.
Prof Reddy, the Chairman urged them to bring in innovation and not confine to the hitherto conventional business school and technological campus model. He stated that India is taking the lead in addressing deep sea bed to outer space. Sharing his own experience as a faculty of law and his earlier experience as a senior administrator at the NALSAR University, Prof Reddy emphasized about the significance of space laws and his research in addressing the spurt in aviation industry and the need to promote aviation law with mushrooming air traffic.
He also briefed the delegation about the strides taken by the universities in Telangana and the initiatives taken by the state government to deliver quality education at doorstep and in also making technical education affordable to the students as part of the larger goal to promote Telangana as a leading hub for education and employment.
The meeting also sought to deliberate upon the need to integrate technology with law as there has been a phenomenal growth in the aviation industry that calls for uniqueness, value added courses, which most of the business schools are yet to incorporate courses on air traffic management, airport management and air space management.
The delegation from Germany shared their ideas of introducing undergraduate programs with minor and honors component in their in the proposed varsity to accommodate 1000 students, with an investment of 12 million Euros, wherein the students pursuing the programs would be sent to Germany to pursue the final year of their program in Germany.
They will be actively looking for having joint partner or governmental facilitation to establish the university or university campus with an investment size of 10 to 50 mil euro. This campus going to concentrate 1+3, 2+2, 3+1 in bachelor level, 1+1, 2+0 in master level along with dual model in engineering (IT) and health care sector which will facilitate the employment in German forIndia candidates.
The meeting ended on an optimistic note to explore the promotion of technological education with global features in wake of the globalization of education and collaboration in technology transfer.
