Hyderabad: Samsrikti Club Inaugurated at GITAM

The GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad proudly announced the inauguration of the Samskriti Club, the SPIC MACAY Heritage Club of GITAM, during a vibrant ceremony held on December 17, 2024. The event celebrated the richness of Indian heritage, culture, and traditions through various artistic performances and traditional rituals.

The inauguration commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment and cultural awakening that the Samskriti Club aims to foster within the student community. The event was jointly organized by the Directorate of Student Life and the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, highlighting the collaborative efforts to promote the appreciation of India’s diverse cultural heritage.

The program featured captivating performances by talented students. Yashaswini, a second-year B.Com. student, mesmerized the audience with her exquisite Kuchipudi dance, showcasing the grace and fluidity of this classical art form. Additionally, Aishwarya, a B.A. Psychology student, delivered a stunning Bharatanatyam performance, further enriching the atmosphere with her skillful expression and artistry.

The inauguration was graced by the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Mythili Sushil Maratt and Dr. Y. Lalitha Sindhuri, along with officials from the Student Life and other departments, all of whom shared their insights and support for this new initiative.

GITAM Hosts Festival of Dance and Music

The Department of Fine and Performing Arts at GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences is excited to announce the upcoming three-day Festival of Dance and Music, set to take place on December 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2024. This vibrant celebration will showcase a variety of traditional art forms through performances by both in-house artists and esteemed guest artists.

The festival will kick off on Wednesday, with an enchanting Carnatic Vocal performance by Ch. Shivani, followed by a captivating Bharatnatyam presentation by Akshaya Janardhan. The festivities will continue on Thursday, featuring a graceful Mohiniyattam performance by Dr. Mythili Sushil Maratt and an expressive Kuchipudi presentation by Dr. Y. Lalitha Sindhuri. The grand finale on Friday, will be highlighted by Dr. Anwesa Mahanta’s mesmerizing Sattriya performance, which promises to be a fitting conclusion to this celebration of dance and music.
