Hyderabad: GITAM hosts a Ten-Day Research Methodology Course in Social Sciences

GITAM School of Business has been organizing a ten-day ‘Research Methodology Course’ (RMC) in Social Sciences, from November 4 to 13, 2024. This initiative, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, aims to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to conduct high-quality research in today’s evolving academic landscape.

The course is designed to empower researchers, academicians, and professionals with comprehensive insights into effective research planning, execution, and analysis. Covering an array of critical topics, participants will engage in systematic literature reviews, research design, data collection and analysis methods, ethical considerations, and practical training in essential software tools.

Key highlights of the workshop include sessions on Research Ethics, Multivariate Data Analysis, Research Design, Software Training, Sample Size Justification, and Citation and Referencing Styles. Esteemed professionals from prestigious institutions have been facilitating these sessions, including- Prof. R.K. Mishra, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad; Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad; Dr. Rupesh Kumar, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana; Dr. Shivoham Singh, Symbiosis International University, Hyderabad, and Dr. Nitya Sunder Nanda, VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad.

Participants, comprising about 30 individuals from IITs, NITs, and Central Universities across India, are gaining invaluable skills to advance their research projects. Under the expert supervision of Dr. Manoj Kumar, Co-Course Director, and coordinated by Dr. K. Rakha and Dr. Shobha Mishra, the workshop is fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange and skill enhancement.

“The course is not only about learning methodologies but also about fostering a culture of ethical research practices and methodological rigor,” said Dr. Divya Kirti Gupta, the Course Director. “We are committed to developing the next generation of researchers who can contribute meaningfully to the field of social sciences.”

As the course progresses, participants are actively engaging in discussions and hands-on training, ensuring they are well-prepared to tackle their research topics with confidence and competence.
