Bihar: More Than Rs 225 Cr Transferred To 3.21 Lakh Families As Flood Grant Relief
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has transferred more than 225 crore rupees directly to the bank accounts of the 3.21 lakh families as flood grant relief through DBT. Nitish Kumar transferred the money yesterday at a meeting in the CM secretariat in Patna.
The state government has given 7000 rupees each to flood-hit families under its new resolution of flood relief aid, which was earlier 6000 rupees per family.
This was the second tranche of aid to flood-affected people who were under the impact of the deluge recently, mainly due to the rise of the water level of the Gandak and Kosi rivers. In the first tranche, around 307 crore rupees were disbursed to more than 4.38 lakh flood-hit families in the state.
In addition to this, the state government has also announced to provide 490 crore rupees as compensation for damage to crops by affected farmers during the flood. This year the state was affected two times due to a deluge in a short interval.
