Telangana: Cyber Security Bureau Apprehends 27 Cyber Fraudsters
Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has apprehended 27 persons who were facilitating cyber fraudsters by opening and sharing bank account details and helping in transfer of money belonging to victims of cyber frauds.
Director of TGCSB, Shikha Goel said, in an inter-state operation lasting for over a fortnight, four teams with assistance of the Rajasthan police raided several places and caught 27 persons. She informed that these 27 persons are involved in over 2200 cyber-crime cases registered across the country amounting to a loss of over 11 crore rupees to the victims.
In Telangana alone, they were involved in 189 cases. As per the officials, among those arrested are businessmen, contractors, students, and people working in the private sector. The Director further said they are investigating the cases and if the complicity of the bank managers is found, legal action will be initiated against them. The Director also said the Cyber Security teams will be conducting more such inter-state operations.
