Nitin Patil Elected Unopposed To Rajya Sabha From Maharashtra
Nitin Patil of the Nationalist Congress Party has been elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed from Maharashtra. He received the letter in this regard from the election officer at Vidhan Bhawan today in the presence of NCP’s officials.
Patil will fill the Rajya Sabha seat which fell vacant after BJP’s Piyush Goyal was elected to the Lok Sabha. With this, Nitin Patil has become the third MP from the Satara district.
The NCP led by Ajit Pawar was given one seat in the Grand Alliance for Rajya Sabha bypolls. Ajit Pawar nominated Nitin Patil for the same, who is also the President of Satara District Central Cooperative Bank.
He is the son of former MP Laxmanrao Patil and brother of Makarand Patil, a sitting MLA with Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
