Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Inaugurates Kerala High Court’s Arbitration Centre

Union Minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal has said today that technology has emerged as a significant enabler for digitally empowering society, and the country is advancing with a citizen-centric, technology-driven modern legal system.

He was inaugurating the Arbitration Centre at the Kerala High Court this evening. Noting that the pendency of cases is a huge challenge, the Minister said that the government has been constantly endeavouring to provide an ecosystem for the faster and more efficient disposal of cases by the judiciary.

He observed that arbitration, mediation, and conciliation have become better substitutes for conventional dispute resolution methods. He added that over 1,562 laws have been eliminated in order to ensure that citizens are not trapped in the web of legal complexities.

Union minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal today said that the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita will make the country’s criminal justice system the most modern in the world within the next five years.

Inaugurating the State level Conference of Central Government Counsels at the Kerala High Court in Kochi, he said that fast and efficient justice system is essential for good governance.

The Minister also observed that speedy justice is the fundamental right of every citizen. He dismissed the charge that the Bharatiya Nyaay Samhita was brought in without proper preparation or consultation. He said it was discussed at different levels with stakeholders since 2019.
