Odisha Govt assures next 10 days tree count will start in Naini Block: Positive response to Singareni CMD plea

After the recent visit of Telangana State Deputy Chief Minister Shri Bhatti Vikramarka to Odisha, the rest of the work related to Naini Coal Block is progressing rapidly. While the Odisha government has issued an order transferring 643 hectares of reserve forest land to Singareni, Singareni CMD Mr. N. Balaram expressed special thanks to the state government for handing over 140 hectares of village forest land.

He also asked the Chief Secretary of the State Government Mr. Manoj Ahuja to provide full cooperation in the process of enumeration and removal of trees to enable coal production to start. Mr. Ahuja responded positively to this. According to his request, he has assured that the tree counting process will be carried out within 10 days.

CMD Sri N. Balaram spoke at a meeting organized on the status of new blocks under the auspices of the Union Ministry of Coal in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the state of Odisha on Wednesday evening.

Union Coal Secretary Amritalal Meena, Odisha State Chief Secretary Mr. Manoj Ahuja, Odisha State Coal and Steel Ministry, Forest Department Secretaries, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Nodal, Wildlife Conservation) participated in this meeting. Chairman of Coal India along with CMDs of Singareni, Mahanadi Cold Fields and NLC India Limited were present.

After this meeting, all the CMDs led by the Secretary of the Ministry of Coal met Odisha CM Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi and revealed the details of the meeting. He promised to provide full cooperation to the projects of other mining companies including Singareni in Odisha. Later, the CMD of the company also asked the MLA Agasti Behara of Chandipada constituency where the Naini coal block is spread.
