GITAM to Host International Syn Fuels Conference 2024
The GITAM School of Science is proud to announce the hosting of the two-day International Syn Fuels Conference (ISFC-2024), scheduled for August 19-20, 2024, on its campus. The announcement was made by Dr. M. Ganapati, a member of the Board of Directors at ISOHIM and a Professor of Science at GITAM.
With the main theme of “Integration of Nuclear & Hydrogen for Energy Transition,” the ISFC aims to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with nuclear hydrogen. The conference seeks to establish a comprehensive roadmap for a sustainable hydrogen economy in India while addressing the fundamental requirements of clean air and water for humanity.
The ISFC is driven by the belief that the health and well-being of the global population depend on access to clean air and water. Furthermore, it emphasizes that economic and high-density nuclear energy possesses all the essential attributes needed to meet these goals. A significant vision of the conference is to work towards the elimination of un-sequestered carbon emissions from coal and fossil fuels in an economically viable manner.
Distinguished speakers at the conference will include Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog, and Shri Vivek Bhasin, Director of BARC. They will engage in discussions on critical topics such as renewable energy, clean energy, green energy initiatives, the Viksit Bharat vision, and India’s ambitious renewable energy goals, including achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
The conference aims to foster collaboration among scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and academia to address the pressing issues of energy transition and environmental sustainability.
