Srinagar: Cloudburst In Ganderbal Triggers Major Mudslides, Blocks Srinagar-Leh Highway

Major mudslides from cloudburst in Ganderbal have blocked Srinagar-Leh National Highway today leading to the suspension of vehicular traffic. Efforts on to reopen the Highway.

The Srinagar-Leh highway was closed as cloudburst unleashed mudslides in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Official sources said the cloudburst also affected multiple houses in Cherwan Padawbal area.

However, there were no reports of any casualties till the reports last came in. Rescue teams have swiftly arrived near the site and have been working tirelessly since morning to clear the debris.
