Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Launches NATS 2.0 Portal And Disburses ₹100 Crore In Stipends Through DBT

Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan today launched the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme-NATS 2.0 portal and released 100 crores as a stipend through Direct Benefit Transfer in New Delhi. The Scheme aims to democratise apprenticeship, bridge skills gaps, fulfil youth aspirations and make them future-ready.

Addressing the launch event, Mr Pradhan said that the platform is helping students to enhance their skills and industry bodies to get manpower. He added, that under the scheme 45 hundred rupees per month will be provided to students during the apprenticeship period of six months to the 18th month.

Mr Pradhan said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has stressed increasing employment ability skills in the union budget 2024-25. He added that the government is focusing on the skill development of the country’s youth. The education minister urged industry bodies and education institutions to come forward and join the portal.

On the occasion, UGC chairman Prof. Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar appreciated the government’s initiatives. He said that this portal is the need of the hour which will help youth to support the country’s growth. AICTE Chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam, NETF Chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe and Secretary of the Department of Higher Education K Sanjay Murthy were also present at the event.
