Govt set up 1013 Post Office Export Centres across the country: Pemmasani Chandrasekhar

The government has set up 1013 Post Office Export Centres across the country to promote exports through the post office network. This was stated in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today by the Minister of State for Communication and Rural Development Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar.

said these centres facilitate cross-border e-commerce and enable artisans, weavers, craftsmen and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He added that various types of goods and products are exported through these centres which include gemstones and imitation jewellery, fabric and apparel, leather products, handicrafts, ayurvedic and herbal products, and other consumer products.

The Minister informed that maximum 93 Post Office Export Centres are in Uttar Pradesh followed by 76 in Karnataka and 64 each in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
