Southwest Monsoon Spreads Across India, IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall & Thunderstorms In Multiple States
The Southwest Monsoon advanced into some more parts of the Arabian Sea, Gujarat, and parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand yesterday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over south India for the next five days. Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is very likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha during the next 5 days.
In north-eastern India and west Bengal, heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue to prevail for the next five days. Meanwhile, heat wave conditions in isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi are likely today and tomorrow and will abate after that.
