Kerala: Heavy rainfall to continue in the state: IMD
The Met Department predicts heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning to continue in Kerala. A red alert is issued for Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts today. An orange alert is issued in 10 districts and a yellow alert in the remaining two districts.
Restrictions, including a night travel ban in various districts, remain in effect.
Fishermen are warned not to venture out to sea from the Kerala coast until further notice. Fishing is prohibited along the Lakshadweep and Karnataka coasts.
In response to the heavy rainfall and upcoming monsoons, the State control room has been opened at the Health Department Directorate. Additionally, the Health Department has constituted a State Level Rapid Response Team (RRT) to prevent the spread of epidemic diseases in the State.
