LS Polls: Polling For Fifth Phase To Be Held Tomorrow For 49 Seats Spread Over 8 States & UT
All arrangements are in place for the fifth phase of polling tomorrow. In this phase, voting will be held in 49 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over six States and two Union Territories. 14 seats of Uttar Pradesh, 13 seats of Maharashtra, seven seats of West Bengal, five seats each of Odisha and Bihar, three seats of Jharkhand and one seat each in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will go to polls.
Over 9 lakh 47 thousand polling officials will be deployed across 94 thousand 732 polling stations. Voting will begin at 7 AM and end at 6 PM. 35 Assembly Constituencies of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will also go to polls on Monday.
The Election Commission has made all arrangements at the polling stations where voting is scheduled to take place tomorrow. Basic facilities from ample shade, drinking water, ramps, toilets, wheelchairs to electricity are in place to ensure that every voter, including elderly and persons with disabilities, can cast vote with ease.
The concerned Chief Electoral Officers, District Election Officers and State machineries have been advised to take adequate measures to manage hot weather conditions in areas where it is forecast. Polling parties have been dispatched along with machines and poll materials to their respective polling stations.
So far, the polling has concluded smoothly and peacefully in 379 Parliamentary Constituencies of 23 States and Union Territories in the first four phases of the General Elections 2024. These elections have registered a total voter turnout of about 66.95 per cent.
