Chhattisgarh: Maoists Triggered IED Blast In Bijapur District
In Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, Maoists have triggered an IED blast targeting the vehicle of a police inspector. In this incident, the vehicle has been badly damaged, however, the police inspector and the constable sitting in the vehicle are completely safe.
According to the information received, Akash Masih, in-charge of Farsegarh police station of Bijapur district, was going to Bijapur district headquarters in a vehicle.
Naxalites detonated a blast near Gannam culvert between Somanpalli and Ranibodli. District Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav has confirmed the incident.
30 Maoists Surrender Before Security Forces
In Chhattisgarh, thirty Maoists, nine of them carrying a cumulative reward of 39 lakh rupees on their heads, have surrendered today in Bijapur district.
It is noteworthy that since January this year till now, one hundred and eighty Maoists have been arrested in Bijapur district. Meanwhile, seventy-six Maoists have surrendered.
