India Women Seal Series With 56-Run Win Over Bangladesh

In Women’s cricket, India won by 56 runs against Bangladesh by DLS method to take 4-0 lead in the five-match T20 series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh this evening.

Chasing a target of 125 in the rain-hit clash, the Hosts could score only 68 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated 14 overs. Play had to be stopped after 5.5 overs in India’s innings. The match was reduced to 14 overs per side as play resumed.

Indian bowling attack showcased a disciplined performance with leg-spinner Asha Sobhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma taking two wickets each.

Earlier, the Hosts won the toss and opted to bowl first. India scored a total of 122 for six in 14 overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur playing her 300th international, scored 39 from 26, while Wicket keeper batter Richa Ghosh made 24 off 15 balls.

The final match of the five-match series will be played on Thursday. The Women in Blue have already taken an unassailable 4-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
