Manipur: Heavy Thunderstorms, Hail Lash Various Parts of the state

Heavy thunderstorms along with hail which lashed various parts of Manipur around 3 pm disrupted normal life in the State.

The storm which lasted for half an hour hampered traffic movement in Imphal city while it blew away houses and fences in other districts. Many trees were also uprooted which destroyed houses and blocked various inter-village roads.

A hail storm was reported in Dolang Chiru village under Noney districts, destroying tin roofs of the residential houses and standing crops in the area. Strong winds and hails were witnessed in the border district of Jiribam resulting in the uprooting of trees and electric poles.

Damage to houses was also reported from Lilong under the Thoubal district and Nambol under the Bishnupur district.
