Hyderabad: Summer School at GITAM School of Business (GSB)

GITAM School of Business (GSB) Hyderabad is excited to announce the organization of a Summer School on Empirical Research in Finance and Economics at its campus from May 20-24, 2024. The program is organized by the Department of Finance at GSB and aims to provide a transformative experience for faculty members, doctoral students, and management students.

The Finance and Economics Summer School will offer an immersive one-week program focusing on enhancing skills and knowledge in empirical finance and accounting research. The sessions are designed to leverage the resources of the newly established Bloomberg Finance Lab at GSB. Participants will explore Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Behavioural Finance/Economics, and Economic Policy discussions throughout the week.

Key takeaways from the program include crafting research themes, addressing methodological challenges in empirical research, utilizing Bloomberg Finance Lab resources, and effectively writing and publishing scholarly articles with practical insights. Participants will also work on a project within one of the focus areas and submit a draft within 30 days of session completion.

Renowned experts such as Dr. Satish Kumar from IIM Nagpur, Dr. Varnita from IIM Shillong, and other notable professionals will be present as resource persons during the program. Ph.D. students, faculty, management students, and other stakeholders in the finance and economics research communities are invited to participate in this enriching experience.
