Visakhapatnam Zoo Park successfully organizes Fancy Dress Competition

On the occasion of National Zoo Lovers Day, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam organized a Fancy Dress Competition on April 7th (Sunday) that saw enthusiastic participation from children age of 3 to 12 years.

The Chief Guest of the program was Sh. Satish, CMD, Southern Group of Education Institution, accompanied by Smt. Swapna and Smt. Poojitha, Fashion Designer. Children actively participated in the program by dressing up as their favourite zoo animals. The zoo bioscope was transformed into a live canvas, with little Zebras, Tigers, Lions, Giraffes, and an array of other animals roaming on the stage.

“The essence of today’s event was not just about celebrating National Zoo Lovers Day, but also about instilling a sense of responsibility towards wildlife conservation in the younger generation,” said Dr. Nandani Salaria, IFS, Curator, IGZP. Curator appreciated all the parents for encouraging their children to participate in this program.

Each child had put in a remarkable effort to represent their chosen animal, not just in costume but also in spirit. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were awarded and all participants were given participation certificates.

“We are grateful for the overwhelming support and participation from the public and look forward to host more such events in the future, said curator. This event was highlighted the importance of wildlife and love for wildlife among the children,” said by parents of the participants. Smt. Mangamma, DCF, IGZP, Assistant Curators Sh. Gopi, Sh. Gopala Naidu, Forest Section Officers Smt. Bharathi, Zoo Education Team participated in the program.
