Hyderabad: GITAM faculty gets SERB Research Project
GITAM Deemed-to-be University is pleased to announce that the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), a statutory body of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, has sanctioned a prestigious research project to Dr. Sudhakar Singha, Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, GITAM School of Technology, Hyderabad.
Titled “AI/ML-based Qualitative and Quantitative Assessment of Groundwater in Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, Central India,” the project aims to utilize advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques to assess groundwater resources in the Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, located in Central India. With a duration of 36 months, the project has been awarded a total grant of Rs. 32.03 lakhs.
Dr. Sudhakar Singha, serving as the Principal Investigator (PI), will lead the research efforts to develop innovative methodologies for qualitative and quantitative analysis of groundwater, leveraging cutting-edge AI and ML algorithms. The project holds significant importance in addressing water resource management challenges and ensuring sustainable groundwater utilization in the region.
As part of the project implementation, Dr. Singha is seeking a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) with a master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering from a recognized university, preferably with GATE qualification.
