World Water Day is celebrated all over the world

World Water Day 2024 calls for international collaboration to ensure equitable access to water and promote water as a tool for peace building. 

UN General Assembly designated March 22nd as World Water Day in 1993, following the recommendations of 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). Since then, it has been observed globally to highlight water-related issues and promote action to address them.

World Water Day happens each year on March 22. It’s a day when we focus on the importance of water and why it’s crucial to save it. Water is really important for everything we do every day.

Think about drinking water, washing dishes, or watering plants – we need water for all of that! It’s essential to celebrate World Water Day because most of the water we use comes from underground sources like wells. These resources are limited, and if we use too much, they might run out.

Water is super important for staying healthy and having a good life. As more and more people need water, it’s becoming harder to find enough of it. That’s why we need to work together to make sure we use water wisely and don’t waste it. We all need to do our part to protect this precious resource.
